Quarantine is a holding step for reviewed WordPress media. It creates a recovery path while you verify that the site still works without the file in its original location.
Use quarantine deliberately
- Confirm the candidate and current evidence.
- Keep a separate database-and-files backup.
- Quarantine the reviewed file through an eligible Pro workflow.
- Test the site and wait through an appropriate review period.
- Restore immediately if a real dependency appears.
Restore and permanent deletion
Restore remains available in the free core when the quarantined file, record, and hash checks are intact. Permanent deletion is separate and explicit. A permanently deleted file must be recovered from a real backup.
